Weekend Project

Well,  got a burr in my butt Friday night and decided to strip wallpaper.   Well it actually all started with our TV is going out.   It's such a major deal to move that huge TV and hook up all the wires.  Decided this was as good a time as any to do some redecorating.   Well it's something that's been needed for quite some time.  The wallpaper has been up for about 20 years.

Gotta tell you, it was more than I planned on.    I only did the wall behind the TV and the adjoining wall that meets up with the fireplace.   At least I can take it in sections.   The wallpaper came off really easy.  Problem was the border.   It left a really glue mess behind and nothing worked to take it off.   I ended up getting a sander and sanding that area.    Well, it's done and I couldn't be happier.

Here's what the wall looked like.   This was a picture at Christmas.   It's the wall behind the TV.

This is the start of the tedious process of ripping down all the wallpaper.

The wallpaper was over the top of dark paneling.

Here it is, stripped, sanded and ready to paint.

Finished.   Now to move the furniture back.   We are going to try and sell the old tv first,  it still works, just getting snow.   We've dealt with it for about a year.   Decided it's spring, no more snow.

Bradley Joseph

7 years ago today my brother lost his battle to cancer.    Has it really been 7 years.    Not a day goes by that I don't think about him.     I Love You Brad and hope you aren't raising to much chaos up there in Heaven.

Very Emotional Month

I'm sure glad the month of February is over.   It's been a very emotional month.

First my mom had to have emergency surgery.   6 days in the hospital from having her appendix taken out.   The appendix did not rupture but it was probably as close to that without actually rupturing.  In fact it was so inflamed they had to remove part of her bowels.   She's doing good,  it just takes time.

The following week I received a very sad phone call from my sister.  My brother in law John died.     Saturday was a beautiful funeral and lots of people attended showing how Mary and John had touched so many lives.

A very sudden and unexpected tragedy was when I received a text from Rebecca that Debbie, a mutual friends, daughter died.    She was only 27 years old and 7 months pregnant.   What an unimaginable tragedy to lose Kristin and her baby Evie.   I can't imagine the pain that the family is feeling and the loss that her husband and her 10 month old son Eddie feel.   Eddie will never know the love of his mother except for those she left behind.   Telling stories of her love and devotion.

Then, received a phone call that Erin's dad had died.    What a tragedy.    I have known Jeff Rudy for over 8 years and in those 8+ years I can count on one hand the number of conversations we had.   Not saying that is a bad thing, he was a very quiet man and kept his emotions close to his chest.   His funeral was this last Saturday.  Although I didn't know Jeff well, it's extremely difficult to see those you love in so much pain.   The funeral was beautiful and very touching for a wonderful man that was so loved.

Last but not least,  Verneene's brother passed away.   I probably only met him once at Jackie and Brandon's wedding, but I know the pain of losing a brother.   He will be buried in Centralia Kansas, the same place my dad is buried.   I definitely plan on visiting his grave when we go this spring to visit dad.

My BIL John

My sister Mary and her husband John have been married for 35 years.    He passed away this last Saturday February 14, 2015.   John never got over the death of his mom which was February 4, 2014.   We are all saddened by his passing.

Look how young!

John loved the guitar.

Mr Gymnastics

It's hard to get a good picture through glass with no flash.   Went to gymnastics with Gage to watch him.  Such a crack up.  Between every thing he did, he would stop and wave and wave until Mommy and Mimi waved back.   Do a somersault....wave....do a somersault.....wave.....over and over again.
