My Old House - WOW

They have totally gutted my old house.  I had the opportunity to go through it the other day, and no I am not stalking them.   They have changed every room.    I didn't think the house was that bad but I am happy they are making it their own.

This is the view walking in the front door.   They have raised the roof and it's all vaulted.

This is the master closet which used to be my master bathroom.

The master bath which this used to be the north end of the master bedroom.

Looking towards the front door.   They added the dormer windows to let in more light.

This will be the kitchen.   It will have a U shape of cabinets and a center island.

Merry Christmas to Me

How awesome is this.  Mike and Erin made me a very special quilt.   This means more to me than you will ever know.   I don't think I've ever had someone make something for me that took this much love and time.   Thank you sooooo much!!!!!

Small House Big Welcome

So little Ada always tells me my house is so little and cute.   I don't know if she's comparing it to my old house or just really feels like it's tiny.   Found this sign and thought it was perfect!

......and isn't the front door cool.   Yep, that's stained glass.   I'm keeping that vintage look.

Home Sweet Home

Well it's starting to look like my home, not just a house.   I don't want to do too much since the contractor will start shortly but setting things up so that I can make sure I like the arrangement and see what furniture I want and get rid of what I don't want.

Smart House

That's right,  I now have a smart house.   Makes life so much easier.   First of all I installed a new thermostat.   Fun thing is I can control it from my phone.   Who would have ever thought this would be possible.

Then I installed a camera doorbell.  It's fun.  I can see when the mailman walks by, I never get mail, and I can see when packages are delivered and keep an eye on the weather.   All from my phone!

Little Bit of Demo

This weekend I started the demo of the kitchen.   What was I thinking!

All tile off the wall.  Notice the cutting board, right in the counter top.  Multi-purpose!

I also demoed in the master bathroom.

I took the mirror tiles off of the wall too.   Hope I won't regret that.   It's so 1970s

Out with the old, in with the new

Well not really,  but it sounded good.

First of all, there was a huge storm where we lost power for about 8 hours.   Found out when I went back down to the house that I also lost my garage door opener.   Something fried it during the storm.

On a good note, got my ceiling fan in my master bedroom installed.   I'm going for a vintage romantic style.......don't ask me why.

Headed Home

After a work and fun filled weekend it's time to travel home.    Enjoyed having the boys make the trip with me.    Beautiful morning with the fog and sunrise.

By the way, Johanna told everyone I didn't do anything.   Is that why my body is so sore and tired.  Plus I had over 13,000 steps.   Thanks JoJo

Even though it's a super old stove, it worked great making a birthday cake for Jackie.  Elin told me that the stove was on fire, I guess she wasn't used to seeing a gas stove.

Carpet Removal

You talk about teamwork, boy did I have it.   So much fun ripping out carpet and thank goodness for all my little helpers.

We first start on the bedroom with pink carpet which Johanna definitely did not like the color!

Then we moved right on into the front room!

While we were working, our little princess was getting her rest.

We didn't want the carpet dust in our eyes!

New House Numbers

I had so much help this weekend.  Put house numbers on the house and mailbox.  That way I can get all the fun stuff I have been ordering.  Wayfair.com loves me!  This project takes teamwork.
