Happy Birthday Ada

 Look who is 8 years old.    Our little spitfire! and I mean that in the most loving way.

Too Hot to do Anything

 I was planning on putting in a new garden and getting grass planted but it is so stinking hot outside.  I got the ground around the concrete leveled and put landscape fabric on the garden area.  I'm ready to plant next spring...as for now everything will burn up!

I definitely need to get some grass planted.....I think Gordon thought I should have colored the concrete.

Time to Start on the Exterior

 Now that the inside of my home and moms is done it's time start working on the exterior.   The concrete at my home is in pretty bad condition.  Driveway is all cracked up and I have more plants growing in it than concrete.  I also hate that when you drive in the drive it looks like you can drive right through the house.  Well, had an idea to remedy that.  

Here's the before of the driveway and sidewalk, well before I show you that, the first order of business was to let the kids color all over the driveway.  Sidewalk chalk and they had fun being creative.  

Second thing to do was in the backyard was to move the a/c unit.  It was right in the corner of the patio and where it was located you couldn't even hear yourself think.  And it was impossible to carry on a conversation while sitting on the back patio. Sorry no picture with the a/c unit in the corner, but you can see that pad it was on.....and you can see why I wanted to replace that patio.

Part of the change was to give me a planting area.  

This prevents it from looking like you drive straight into the house.

Kitchen is Finished

 Last thing to finish on the inside of the house was the kitchen.  Been dragging my feet but it's finally done and it looks fantastic.

We decided to keep the top cabinet doors off so that mom could display her glass basket collection.  They look great.

Happy 6th Birthday Sam

 You are the spunk in spunky....love this little guy.  His fun witty personality.  He always brightens my day with a smile or a hug.   Love you Samuel Paul.  Happy 6th Birthday.

Time to Get Cabinets Finished

 Mom was enjoying the open concept with the kitchen cabinets but it was time to get the kitchen finished. It's either been too cold, too hot or too windy to sand outside.   You know this Kansas weather.   I finally got it all sanded and decided to move things indoors.  With it set up in my dining room it was motivation to get my fanny moving.

Now they are sanded it's time to prime.   Notice my assistant!

Next, time to put the wallpaper on and trim.

Painted and ready to hang!  

I'm also ready to get my house back in order. 

One Year Ago Today

 June 1, 2021 I purchased this house for mom.   It was a busy 6 months getting it ready for her but she has made the house her home.   She loves it and seems to settled in very well.
