Demo Day 1

Getting ready to head back so decided I needed to do a bit of demoing.  Knocked out shelves in the laundry room.  Will be ready then to have the tank-less water heater installed.  I know it's sad, but had to remove that marble paneling.   Hopefully I can file something just as nice.  (lol)

Getting all set up.

Well, as much as I can.   I bought this really cool shelf and then decided to knock down the wall where I was going to put it.   I ended up deciding to put it in my closet.    I gotta say, I love it.   Works perfect in there.  Never in my wildest dream did I think I would have a closet big enough to handle a 5' circular shelf.

Also found this really cool cabinet for my TV.   Great store that re-purposes furniture.  This was an old dresser.  Cool, huh.

Zinnias Everywhere

Well the former owners definitely loved zinnias.   Sorry, not my favorite so I won't be replanting, but I'll enjoy them this year. I personally prefer plants that are perennials, so much less work. Girls had fun picking a bouquet for me and mommy.

My first project

Simple yet very important.  New mailbox!   Gift from Jackie and Brandon.   Thanks guys.   It's a new mailbox that can handle lots of mail and has a key.   Perfect!   I hung it and of course forgot to get a photo.  I'll do that next time I'm in town.

Old mailbox

New prettier mailbox.   I actually hung it on the house, not just sitting it on the brick.   Now it needs numbers.   Gotta get all my vinyl cutting equipment to get that done.

Contractors and getting things started!

Today was a busy day.  Scheduling contractors to come by and give me bids.   I'm trying to use local contractors.   I had the plumbing company come by and give me a bid on a tank-less water heater.   From what I have been told they work great and take up very little space.   It will be in my laundry room which will be part of the kitchen eventually.

Second I had a contractor come by and give me a bid on remodeling the kitchen, new floors in the main living area and remodeling the master bath.    WOW, that was a mouth full.

Here's the plan.  In the master bathroom, knock out that thin wall between the sink and the toilet.  New vanity and sink and new shower.  I will be painting and putting in new flooring.

We will be cutting this wall down between the kitchen and the front room and putting in a bar.   This will open up the kitchen to the rest of the house. Also knocking out the wood slat wall, not sure what that was all about.

Last but not least, we will be raising the floor of the laundry room up to the same level as the kitchen, knocking out the wall on the left to make the laundry part of the kitchen.   All new cabinets, appliances and flooring.

Home Sweet Home

Well I did it!   I closed on my house.   It's official.  I am no longer homeless.   Loving my new place.

Riley is loving her new domain.   I usually have to bribe her with a treat to get her to come inside.

Happy Mothers Day

Today Jaxson and Gage got to give mom the quilt that they worked so hard on.
Her reaction was priceless.

Jaxson quilted everything, Gage assembled the back (the part with Audrey)
and I did the top and the trim.

This is actually the back, but it's her favorite.

My Latest Project

It's Demo Day!  I had a barn door installed so today I ripped out the door frame.   Time to get it all spiffed up and pretty.

Day 5 of the Adventures of the Vineyard Sisters + Mom

We then headed out for Oklahoma City to see the Memorial.   Wow, it was surreal.  You just can't imagine that one person could take out a building that size and kill so many innocent people, including so many young children.

After leaving the memorial, we just happened to find another Harley Davidson store.   Then we were off to Wichita to meet up with Jackie and the girls for a late lunch.  What a way to finish off a perfect week.

Now that's what you call a road trip.

Day 4 of the Adventures of the Vineyard Sisters + Mom

Today we left San Antonio and headed North.   Now part of our adventure was stopping at Harley Davidson stores.   Mary collects poker chips that are different at each store.   We stopped at a total of 8 in Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas.

We headed to the Fort Worth Stockyards but got there a little late, with all of our stops.  That's ok though, visiting all the Harley stores was fun.

We then headed to the WinStar Casino for another fun night of gambling.

Day 3 of the Adventures of the Vineyard Sisters + Mom

Day 3 was no traveling!   Yippee.....well a little bit of time in the car.   We went to 540 Welton.
That's where we lived when I was born.  How fun is that.

We were lucky enough to be at the Alamo when there were having a ceremony to honor the veterans.   Super cool.

I didn't realize you weren't suppose to take pictures inside so this is the only one I got.

My mother was determined not to use her wheelchair!

I tried to get a picture in the same place Brad and I had ours taken years ago.  Well, the building isn't there any more.    Someone decided they needed to tear down a bunch of the buildings.   I'm happy to say that they are in the process of rebuilding and trying to put it back the way it was.

We went on a boat cruise on the San Antonio River.  So beautiful and relaxing.
