Our Newest Seamstress

Johanna received a new sewing machine for her 7th birthday.   Honestly, I've never seen such a natural.  Like I told her, she does better than the women I'm teaching in my sewing class.  (sorry ladies)

Very happy with her new sewing machine!

It just doesn't get any cuter than this.

Her first project.   Daddy and Johanna very proud with her KState pillow case!

Next was a pillow case for her little brother!

Some People Never Grow Up

I finally finished my fairy garden.  Hey don't judge me.....I'm staying off the streets!

Water garden, where else would you set up camp but near the lake.

Gnome village is an old wagon that was Jaxson's.

I decided to decorate a birdbath too

A bit of the ocean for Michael and Erin.

Added a bit more greenery and flowers.   Can you say Spring Fever!

I had to get these.  Hyacinth bulbs growing in water.  They smell wonderful.

.....and of course I had to help the kids make their own fairy garden.

I have several other ideas so look for the Wizard of Oz garden and a farm scene.

Happy Easter

I got to spend Easter with Jackie, Brandon and the kids.  My plan was to stop by Jeff and Mindy's on the way home but Mother Nature had other plans.  That 4 hour drive took me over 5 hours and it was white knuckle driving the whole way.   Got to see the boys Monday night though for Easter.   Here's some cute pics of the little ones doing their Easter egg hunt.

By the way, the Easter bunny sent me an email and ask me to hide the eggs upstairs, since it was so cold that night.

They even made cookies for the Easter bunny.

It's that time of Year

Baseball season has started.  I think someone needs to tell Mother Nature though.   So far we went to a tournament wrapped up in blankets and Gage's game was canceled because of the snow.

We did have a bit of bad news.  Jaxson while catching was hit by a foul ball.  What we thought was him hyper-extending his thumb, was actually a broken thumb.   6 weeks of no baseball!  Oh no!

Heal fast Jaxson.

They were told not to smile in this picture....so serious.

My New Toy

As luck would have it my faithful Garmin activity tracker finally bit the dust.   Can't say I'm sad because I've really been wanting one of these.

Check out my new toy!

That's right, an apple watch.   Can't wait to figure this thing out!

Passing the Tradition On

Jaxson had ask me a couple of months ago to teach him to sew.   Well last night they spent the night and we got busy.   Both boys picked out the fabric and then we got busy making pillow cases.   It was so much fun.  Jeff is in trouble thought if Gage drives the way he sews.  It was pedal to the metal the entire time.

The concentration!

Perfection!

He chose flames because he's "On Fire"!

Another Perfect Pillowcase!

Bored with pictures.

Christmas in New Hampshire

Made a spur of the minute visit to New Hampshire for Christmas.   Fun times and I'm so happy I went.  It
was great to see Mike and Erin and a bonus since Jane was there too.

Erin got a new job at Lindt Chocolate so picked up a few for John.  I think he's an addict.   Can I tell you what a pain they are to get through security.   150 foil balls.  I got pulled aside each and every time.

Friday night we went to Portland Maine.   It was beautiful and it was like I had stepped back in time to a Norman Rockwell time.   It was snowing, there was a beautiful lit Christmas tree, a gorgeous church across the street and to top it all off, a guy playing Silent Night on his harmonica.

They even had a selfie station!

After walking in the cold, we of course had to stop in for some wine tasting to warm us up.

Christmas Eve couldn't have been more perfect.  It snowed and then Mike and Erin surprised us with matching jammies.  Even Eleanor!

Squirrel House by the Sea

Erin and Mike have purchased a bit of a project.   Best news, it's 1 mile from the ocean.  Today I got to go by and see the land and the house, before it's demolished.

Also, Erin has set up a blog if you'd like to follow the progress of their dream home.

Backyard of their new home.

Michael showing off his beach.

Eleanor

One of my beautiful grandpuppies.   Can we say she's a bit spoiled.  She wasn't really happy with me laughing because of her squirrel jammies so she was ignoring me.

Staying nice and warm, with her pet moose.
