Goodbye and good ridden 2015, Welcome 2016

Well,  I guess it wasn't all bad, but there were several very large losses in our family.

Wishing all of my family and friends Health and Happiness in 2016.

Here's the year in review, well as much as this 59 year old mind can remember.

We started off the month of February with my mom having to have emergency surgery.   6 days in the hospital from having her appendix taken out.   The appendix did not rupture but it was probably as close to that without actually rupturing.  In fact it was so inflamed they had to remove part of her bowels.   She is thankfully, fully recovered.

The following week I received a very sad phone call from my sister.  My brother in law John died.     My sister is doing well but I know it’s a daily struggle for her.    I pray that she stays strong.

Another  very sudden and unexpected tragedy was when I received a text from Rebecca that Debbie, a mutual friends, daughter died.    She was only 27 years old and 7 months pregnant.   What an unimaginable tragedy to lose Kristin and her baby Evie.   I can’t imagine the pain and struggle to continue every day with the loss of a child and grandchild.

Then, received a phone call that Erin's dad had died.    What a tragedy.    I have known Jeff Rudy for over 8 years and in those 8+ years I can count on one hand the number of conversations we had.   Not saying that is a bad thing, he was a very quiet man and kept his emotions close to his chest.   It’s one thing to lose your dad but at such a young age in such a tragic way.    I know you miss him daily Erin but know that he is watching over you and guiding you in your daily life.  He’s part of the reason you are who you are.   A  strong beautiful woman that we are very proud of.

Last but not least,  Verneene's brother passed away.   I probably only met him once at Jackie and Brandon's wedding, but I know the pain of losing a brother.

Thank God February was a short month, I don’t know that our family could have taken any more.

The summers were filled with watching  baseball and soccer games of Jaxson and Gage.    I miss seeing my girls weekly but when I do get to see them I take in as much love as I can.    These 5 kids are the joy of my life.

In June Mike and Erin took a huge step.   That’s right they moved to Stratham NH.    So very proud of them.     I continue to try to talk them into moving back to Kansas.   Although I know it will never happen,  I won’t stop trying.  (Sorry guys)

We had a bit of a medical scare with Stan in September.   He was careless and let an infection in his foot get out of control.   He ended up with Osteomylitis.   Both doctors wanted to amputate his big toe.   Well he fought that and talked them into trying with medication.   It was a grueling 6 weeks of daily IV antibiotics but it was worth it.    After 6 weeks we returned to the Infection Disease doctor.   Much to his surprise  there was no sign of the infection.   Boy he lucked out on that one.   Hopefully this has opened up his eyes.

In September we also made a trip to see Mike and Erin in Stratham NH.  What a wonderful trip.   So good to always see them.

I almost forgot a huge change that I made in 2015.   I changed jobs.   That's right, after 15 years of doing the same thing I decided it was time for a change.   I gotta say, it was nerve wracking but was the best thing I ever did.   I love my new job.

We also added to our family in that Hollie and Justin had a new little girl named Paisley in October and Joey and Heather had a little girl named Aubrey in November.   I'm a Great Aunt, 2 times more!    Our daughter also surprised us that another little one is on the way.    My heart is about to explode with excitement.

Stan is 62 and as cantankerous as ever,
Karen just turn 29, with 30 years experience and is trying to slow down.  No more selling crafts and trying to downsize her collection :)  I know Jeff will be excited about that.

My kids are growing up too fast.
Jeff is 37, and Jackie and Michael 33.  WOW,  where does the time go.

These little stinkers need to quit growing up so fast.
Jaxson 10, Gage 7, Johanna 4, Elin 3 and little Ada 18 months.

Here’s to new life and happiness in 2016
