Adventures of the Vine Yard Seekers Day 3

After 2 days of site seeing and adventures we are ready to head to Medford to see family.  That's the reason we traveled to Oregon.   What a trip, getting from Gold Beach to Medford.   We started off the morning and it was very foggy.   Was next to impossible to see the ocean so we just kept driving.    SHOPS....we saw a cool looking Gift shop so we stopped.   What a great find.   I've always wanted a bear that is carved from a tree with the chain saw.  They are just too darn expensive.   Well in Oregon there's no sales tax, so it's even cheaper....right.   The price was great and I found the perfect Papa Bear.   Reminded me of my hubby I left back home   :)  Little pot belly, we call him Papa and he's always a Bear.   Let's keep that our little secret.
Well,  I bought him and Kathy convinced me it would fit in my suitcase.   We had the store clerk weigh it.  20lbs,   could I fit that in my suitcase with all my stuff.    Well I could always move my stuff to Kathy and Mary's suitcase.....sure, he'll fit.   Well he fit,  but he couldn't have been a 1/2 inch taller or he wouldn't have.  Isn't he the cutest.   He fits perfectly on my hearth.

Meet Papa Bear.

Travels to Medford were full of fun and adventure.   We traveled through a forest where the trees were as wide as a car.   We traveled where the shoulder of the road was about 6" and straight down.   I was fine until in the other lane was a semi.....yikes.   By the time I was done going through that part of the drive, my hand was numb from squeezing the wheel.

We checked into our hotel and then called Wendy.   We were so excited to see everyone that we headed right on over.

I got the boys chiefs jerseys.   They were so excited and even wore them!

The boys practically lived in the pool.   They showed us their swimming talent.

After a full day we relaxed with a bottle of wine and then crashed.

Adventures of the Vine Yard Seekers Day 4

We started off with breakfast at the Hotel.   That's one thing I make sure of, that the hotel serves a breakfast.  This one wasn't too bad.

Today our adventures took us to Crater Lake.   Wow, the size and beauty was just incredible.

My Great Nephew Brody

My great nephew Cody.

We finished off the night with mom talking all of us to Red Robin for dinner.
After dinner the boys made ice cream from the really cool ice cream makers Mary got them.   We took pics and were lucky to get them out of the pool long enough to snap a few pics.

Adventures of the Vine Yard Seekers Day 5

Things are winding down and it's sadly time to say good bye.   It's sad we live so far apart and don't get to see everyone on a regular basis.   We had so much fun.  Wendy's mom wanted to come by and say hello.  We all sat and chatted for  a while and then it was time to say good bye.

Boys making more ice cream.

It was time to make the long trip now back to Portland.   What was suppose to take 4 1/2 hours took 6 hours.    The traffic was horrible.   Once we got to our hotel we went to our room,   decided to take the rental car back to the airport.   Kathy and I ran off to do that and Mary and Mom ordered a pizza.

After a full day we relaxed with a bottle of wine and then crashed.

Adventures of the Vine Yard Seeks Day 6

Well,  it's time to go home.   I think we are all ready and exhausted.   I couldn't have enjoyed myself more with my mom and my 2 sisters.    I am truly blessed to be able to experience this with them.    I can't wait until we plan our next trip.....my personal opinion, this needs to be an annual event.

Well time to sign off for this trip........All out of wine, but when we got home that night we all crashed.

End of the Year Bon Fire

So far this is a 2 year tradition and I hope Jeff continues.    I love it when all the kids come out and we have a bon fire and fishing.    The weather has taken a toll on the pond.  For the past several years it's been really really low.   Now we have had enough rain and the pond is trying to catch up but with the hot and cold constantly changing weather it has turned green.   It's awful.   But, despite the green color there was still some great fishing.    Too bad I don't have more pictures, my battery died on my camera.   As more are shared on facebook I will update.

Here's Gage, holding up the fire!

Cool gift from the team.

Gracie loved fishing.  She was the record holder until Jaxson got lucky and caught a 4lber

She caught it all by herself. Daddy had to take it off the hook though.

Ok,  in case you don't know, the 4 foot teddy bear at Jackie and Brandon's house is called Uncle Mike......gift from their Uncle.   Here's Elin crashing with him and watching a movie.

Uncle Mike is also very willing to dress up as a Princess.

Stormy Weather in Kansas

We were hit by a storm last night.   Had the trim on the siding torn off,  trees down.  The good thing is, the pond is rising.   We don't have to worry about filling it with water with the hose.

We put fabric over our pergola, it withstood the wind.

Pond is filling, trying to get more carp to help clean up the moss.

Even the arm of the pond has water, it was completely dry for the last year.
